My friend blew his stator.... HELP!

my friend blew his stator and retifier....

I STILL NEED HELP with my stator and rectifier. has anyone ever changed a stator before and is it hard. I'm going to replace mine if it is not too hard. The regulator is simple. Guy at yamaha told me they were both fried. HE was not sure how, but said they were both fried. Anyone had this problem on a 00 r6.
all this started after I converted the tail lights to the 2001 led's any more suggestions before I drop this cash on the parts and take a stab at screwing this up myself.

so basicly he wants to know how hard its going to be to change the stator and rectifer himself.

Thanks guys :YEAH

its easy.. just need some alenn keys n oil pan and gasket maker.. goto a local good dirt bike shop n pick up some gasket maker stuff. also your gonna loose some oil so pick some of that up to. its really simple its just a magnet thingy that u gotta unbolt from the cover on the inside and unplug that harness n reverse wha laa
