i noticed that as well... not to mention it also took way too much effort for my lazy ***. dropping it a tooth was the best thing i ever did. first feels like its got unlimited power and 2nd now feels like it has the power of 1st with stock gearing. (cant wait till i get my 06 gsx-r 750)

if i were you id deff. get the -1 sprocket! :YEAH

yea, all you need so to go -1 on the front. then you dont have to buy a new chain or ne thing. (unless you need a new one)

by the way... do you know chris he's out in phoenix, AZ. i think he's going to school there or something. hes got an F4i which i think is or was out of commision and a 954?

Re: 600rr

I can get my R1 up in third no problem. ok ok, on a more serious note now. on my 98 F3 i could get it up in 3rd only if i clutched it standing up. otherwise it just was not happening in 3rd.

Re: 600rr

i can get up with me on the tank but only like 1 foot and a half. You can get it up and ride it out? And i hardly think a 4th gear wheelie is possible on stock gearing. I used to have a powwer commander on my f4i and could only do 2nd almost 3rd. Not i have no power commander and my exhaust is shortened for 12's and which gave the bike a little more power but stull no 3rd gear wheelies. Trust me, i know what im doin. I think it may be because you east coast stunters have those 49 state models which have bigger cams = more power in stock bikes then here.

I know alot of guys with 600rrs are changing sprockets, but i haven't felt a need too. Im no pro by any means and i too learned how to wheelie from the advice from this forum. I can hit sit downs in 1st 2nd and can do standups in 1st 2nd and 3rd, bounce with 2nd and 3rd. Rider weight and body position are factors as well as body language especially on the way up. Im bout 185lbs, 5'11 or so. I ve pulled standups in the rain with a tire that has over 4000miles on it. Its not the gearing or the power thats lacking. Try little changes in the way you hit them, like adjusting the speed that you're at when you pull them and rpms. If you're not using the clutch, you're asking for a huge Dr. bill. Power wheelies are dangerous. From reading what you have said, Im not sure you're getting them past the hump yet, and when you do its gonna go fast, straight up and if you are lucky, you'll cut the throttle in time. If not GET WELL SOON. Using the clutch is easy, really, i was scared as hell too, but just get in a parking lot and clutch it in first, increasing the rpms a little each time until it feels high. Use a slight bounce, this will prepare you for the 2nd and 3rd gear ones, you'll just be going faster. Then get a friend to record you, you'll find that you are no where near the bp. Then the fun and frustration begin. Good luck

Re: 600rr

why do you need to get it up in 3rd? bring it up in 2nd and balance it.

Re: 600rr

I can get my **** up in third bounce/clutch I'd say I have about as much power as a 600rr just way steeper gearing so it's probably even harder. I can barely get the bike up in second bouncing.

Re: 600rr

Also, just because I say bounce/clutch doesn't mean its the same thing as bouncing it up. Using bouncing is only an aid to the clutch and I like the way it shoots up quicker, bouncing alone in higher gears will cause the bike to come up unpredictably.
