Re: Stoppies

hey bro you gotta start them faster too, start at a comfortable speed use about 80% of your front brake as you rock your upper body weight forward, with your arms locked strait, and as the back starts to come up ease off the brake a little. make sure your centered too or it could drift from side to side.

Question though when talking with some friends who also have '96-'99 GSXR's. Whenever I would get the rear off the ground and come back down, the bike would die. Didn't do it at first, main guess on my part is because I wasn't up as high. But now that they are SLOWLY getting higher the bike dies when it lands. Anyhow my friends were saying that I need to bend the little lever on the kickstand so that it would be in contact and the kill switch wouldn't be engaged when the kickstand drops a little. Just wonder about that part also.
never heard of that happeing. Are you grabbing the clutch?

Re: Stoppies

if the clutch is dragging it might do that...or just knocking the carbs enough to stave for fuel?

Yeah, holding the clutch in. It was the little nipple on the stand that was doing it. Bent it up and not a problem now.
