3rd gear sit downs...damnit!

ok,its thanksgiving,39 degrees, had to get away from the family,so i went to go do some wheelies on the highway...yes the highway.after hitting a lil icy spot under an overpass i was ready to go...did a couple stand ups then i thought about sit downs..i clicked down to 3rd gear and clutched it in 3rd gear...just sped up a little haha..then i tryed just letting off the gas and wacking it open..boom almost looped a 3rd gear sit down...by now the **** was freezing in my pants and i kept doing 3rd gear sit downs til my bike started to putter..so i put it on reserve and went home...now...WTF i can clutch 1st gear wheelies from a dead stop and clutch my 3rd gear stand ups but i cant clutch 3rd gear sit downs..whats up with that..i can power it up just fine but it never comes up high enough just using the clutch..any one have this problem at all? im -1 +12 on my 750.

more gas try throwin your weight back more and pullin on the bars. you dont have as much leverage sitting down and you have more weight forward than if you were standing

my bike is the same, when i am in 4th gear i can throw them up easy standing. Sittin down, nope won't happen. So i just come to the conclusion, bounce it or clutch it standin up, then just sit back down in the seat. well thats my

wish i could say the same haha.

Yeah what those guys said, more clutch, or more bounce. The weight transfer while doing a standup helps dramatically when doing a wheelie and since your sitting down theres virtually no wieght transfer. Maybe you could try sitting back farther on the seat and yankin on the bars and more clutch?

Damn i wish my bike would even lerch off the ground clutchin 3rd lol it just bogs right away hah.

Re: 3rd gear sit downs...damnit!

Listen, when you're ready to clutch it up play with your clutch by only pulling it in enough to start it slipping. When you let it back out roll the throttle with it. You will find that if you barely pull your clutch in and slip it out while twisting the throttle the bike comes up so easy and smooth. When you perfect it you'll be able to pick it right up at will to balance :YEAH :YEAH

Yeah I'll talk to you on aim about this. Before I knew my bike could clutch second pulling on the bars I used to pull it up standing and sit.
