Complete guide for learning basic wheelies the right way

Re: Complete guide for learning basic wheelies the right way
Hey me too! Just got my self an evo 140 pit bike. To play with as my gixxer is in hibernation. Does the 'clutch it up' work the same as bigger bikes and it is better to learn 2nd sitting or 2nd standing (when I fit bmx back pegs). Having been riding in 2nd feels better. Only flipped once and yes it bloody hurts! But using the back break now, not just covering it is alot better. Thanx in advance.

Re: Complete guide for learning basic wheelies the right way
hey there well im still learning the ins and outs of doing a wheelie but have been going on it for a couple months now and am proud to say have not wiped from a wheelie. my biggest advice is take it slow. Rome was not built in a day. start by giving a bit of gas and releasing the clutch. Try and only lift it a foot. Do that a couple times till you feel comfortable. cuz trust me you dont want to mess up that nice bike.

+1 m8. Get yourself a 125cc road bike or a pit bike like me. I have now learnt to clutch up straight to b/p. Only flipped once, a small amount of damage fixed in 20 minutes. If this was my 1k, the bill would have been hundreds. In fact the same amount of money it cost me to buy the pit. If you still want to try on cbr ride as normal but between 1st and 2nd yank that throttle open and keep it pinned, and cover back brake.

OK THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU JUST SAID HERE....
you BOUGHT($$$$$$$$) a 2007($$$$$$$$) hondacbr600 and you want to LEARN($$$$) to pop a wheelie.
i'll tell you this right now the best advice ur gonna get is what you read on this wheelie thread and of course ur gonna fall and mess up the bike......you should have gotten a bike for like 3gs to practice...but its too late so..
so my advice...1)go to one of ur friends and ask them to let u practice on a pitbike or something
2) if u want to learn on ur new bike ..put some cages on it

dude take it easy these new bikes have crap loads of power. I would first use what you have on your bike. But if i was you id by a small cheap bike and start practising on that cuase as far as i know insurance companies dont pay for wheelie **** ups and if your learning there will be a few of those **** ups.
