i.e. bike starts veering to the left, i lean to the left also, but i am simultaneously shifting that weight to my right foot, causing the bike to go straight.
once i realized this, i corrected myself and also realized that now i have to lean in the direction i want the bike to go.... i.e. bike starts veering to the right i'll have to lean to the left to straighten it out.
i've seen a few people struggle with learning this, when attempting to change lanes on a highway standup, or take curves.... but highway or lot, the dynamics are the same

i got a 2005 gsxr 1000...i can power wheelie it easy in 1st and 2nd gears...now i'm trying to clutch it up...what rpms should i try it out first...and what gear...most people that have posted have 600 and 750's...getting rpms at 7k...would it be any differ on a 1000...i know everybody is afraid of looping and so am i...by the way this post is great...its help me get more comfortable with riding... thanks

try around 3k and if it doesnt work. work up.. it doesnt take much with a 1k... it also depends on what gear you are in...... you can always give it a little bit more... but u cant give it more and work down.... so slowly work up and dont wreck a new bike.... y are you riding an 05 1000 if you havent clutched wheelies? j/w....

i've been ridin for a while. just new to the stuntin life now.i use to just pop em up with power...but i was always afraid of clutchin it...but thanks for the advice

I dropped it to about 22 psi
I dont want to lower it anymore than that. I'm gonna bolt up a NEW tire, and go out and practice.

hey f4 guy, you must be some kind of superstunter that is perfect, here is what you can do. take your f3 or f4 or what ever it is that you have load in in your truck and come on down to lafayette and show us all how its done, it would be an honor to have someone with your experience, skill, know how and advice to teach us corn fed boys how its done. personally i can say, with my advice i have watched two highway wheelie riders become parking lot stunters in only about a week, so with that i close by saying, the advice i am giving on this site must work or these guys would still be riding there slow wheelies at 30mph not 5mph.

one more thing a guy that is learning is not going to be able to slow it down just because experienced riders such as yourself can does not mean thats a good way to learn. from a dead stop to balance point it what these guys need to learn, not how to coast or ride the brake

Dammn i never see a explanation of wheely's so good this is golden advice 
i have now perfeckt control over a basic power wheely and use some times the clutch to pull a wheely mostly in higher gears now i'm gonna try out the things i read in this tread .

look notcowbikemike, f4rider is completly correct. Anybody would tell you that while in a wheelie looking down at your feet would not be the best choice. Whatever is in front of you is the most important thing . Also if you are pulling the front wheel up from a stop, and having it up by the time you hit five miles per hour you dont have a stock sprocket on the bike.
