Handbrake setup
Handbrake setup
Hi,
Looking at fitting a left hand rear brake to my bike.
If i've understood it right i can flip any front brake lever with a remote mounted resevior upside down, provided i make a new bracket for the resevior itself, so it sits the right way up.
I then need to run a line from the bar master cylinder to the rear foot master cylinder's resevior port.
How are people attaching the brake line to the resevior port? Is there some kind of adaptor on the market that will do the job universally, or will i have to swap the rear master cylinder out for something that's going to take a standard banjo fitting from the stock foot resevior? At a later date i'll probbably swap over to a twin rear caliper setup, however at the moment i've got to design/make a bracket up before thats possible.
Bikes a '92 GS500E if it makes any difference/anyones worked out something like this before?

Re: Handbrake setup
I don't know if they will match the GS500E, but you could look at some newer bikes to see if the rear master is the same or not to know. But, there are two usual adapters, one circular, and one teardrop that plugs into the rear master and allows you to add the second brake master instead of the reservoir in the back. Simple setup, but it works.
