Throttle Hand Position Question

This will be my second season riding and I've got about 4000 miles under my belt riding.

I was riding yesterday and realized that I hang my right pointer finger and middle finger on the front brake lever 100% of the time while riding. I never have my entire hand wrapped around the throttle. In the MSF course I remember getting yelled at for doing this as well but I feel very comfortable riding this way.

Is this a bad habit that I should make a conscious effort to change now while I'm still a relative novice rider or should I not worry about it?

Just trying to see if I should work on remedying this sooner rather than later.

Also it seems like every stunt video ive ever seen everyone and i mean everyone keeps a full wrist on the throttle without hanging any fingers off. Anyone else ride like this or should I try to change this?

-Thanks
