04 gsxr 600 stunt??
Whats up guys new to the stunt world but no tnew to riding. I started with a 03 636 crashed it and tore it up pretty bad. So i ended up selling it and sat out for a year then bought a 2004 R1. Now i just recently picked a gsxr 600 that was wrecked. Cosmetics stator shifter assembly a clip on and the brakes arent building up pressure but those are the only things wrong with it. I already have a powers cage for it. and all the parts except for the shift assembly and brake problem done and on the way.
Now my question is to you boys stuntin these gsxr's what all is needed to stunt this bike.
Cage
12 bar
Hand brake
sprocket
THose are the basics i know i will need minus the cage. What else is needed to stunt this bike? Thanks in advance

I've heard both yes and no, just ad and extra half qrt. I want to go w/ the oil pick up but have no clue as to who makes them now.
If you know can you post up a link please?

stuntex is the one that made or makes them. but you can find a ton on ebay type in oil pick ups gsxr or somthing and it'll come up. Some people hate the gsxr's some people like them i don't mind mine i know there are better bikes out there but it's what i got. don't put a 12bar on it don't scrape the sub to hard thats about it other than that turn your idle up to about 4300 and ride it!!

hand brake, idle screw, cage. add extra oil (I used respol 5w-50 and LOVED it)
Cage: I liked my freestyle ingenuity but most don't. Powers sucked, 905 was too weak, sick innovations or impaktech are always the way to go.
12 bar: subframe is super weak, get a round bar and powers subframe ties. impakteck makes a nice subframe cage to beef it up if you want a 12 bar. I rocked a scrapeworks subframe (tubular steel) and had a custom roundbar welded to it. it was so clean and strong but they are VERY rare and I already sold mine lol
Hand brake: hohey or 905 dual caliper all the way. you'll never be upset about it. brembo master or magura clutch master for sure. I used a gsxr radial master and it had plenty of grab and feel for the dual caliper.
sprocket: I REALLY liked -2, +15 on my sprockets but I stunted just as fine with stock front and +5 in rear. your basic -1, +2 is nice too just gotta have some extra room to slow it down and a little more clutch finess.
I used a thread kit and ran an idle cable off a 600rr and it worked great. also hear there is an old suzuki with one that matches the thread but I was too lazy to find one
I really liked the otown dent too because it kept me pretty far back from the bars. and make sure to keep your throttle cables tight, they seem to always have slack from the factory.

Re: 04 gsxr 600 stunt??
def needs oil pick up...smoked my 05 in 4 months w/o one.. sub frame is garbage..need a steel or re-enforce it, you can also run flat bars from the 12 bar all the way down the sub frame and conect into the top mount for the rear set...that will help stiffen it up a bunch but i still broke mine after like 6 months of abuseing it super squid style!!! powers cage is garbage, i literatly tore one side off my bike. i ran a 62 on it and it was super twitchy...i would go w. something less aggressive 50 maybe. do the oil pick up first thing!!! gl

Well i have a 53 on the rear. and ill go ahead and order the oil pick up and reinforce the subby. im sure i wont be up in the air long enough do drain the sump on the bike just yet. lol maybe goin a lil faster on the highway about 60 standin it up.

Re: 04 gsxr 600 stunt??
if u get a pick up, when u go to install it u will see why its a good idea, the stock one is all the way in the front. i ran one in my 04. and beardo is right it would be simple to make, it pretty much a flange with a tube on it.

Re: 04 gsxr 600 stunt??
i would fill oil to top of the eye, i ran my o4 for over a year with no pick up tube 12 mile high chair wheelies and 22 + mile ss on the hwy!!!!
i would recommend a -5 in front (11) tooth and a + 3 in rear, useing a 520 conversion!!
thats the best sprocket set up for that year!!
def a cage hb and a bar of some sort on back!!
