Vibration

I just installed my Impaktech cage on my 06 636. Everything is torqued to spec, and I have wicked vibration from 7000rpm to 8000rpm. That is the only place in the rpm range it hapens. Does anyone else have this problem with the 05-06? Does this happen with all cages? It's the first cage I have ever used, and never experienced this with sliders. Probably because they don't route back into the frame. Any solutions to this would be greatly appreciated since that is right at my freeway rpm and it feels like a tuning fork.

I just installed the Impaktech Cage on my Ninja 400 2023 few days ago. Similar to you, whenever I pass by 5000 rpm in any gear, there is a strong vibration. If I sustain 5000, then I could touch around different parts of the bike and I can feel the cage humming.

I tried retorqueing all the bolts several times with no improvement. But today I think I solved it. I loosened all the cage bolts just enough so I can wiggle it. Then instead of letting the cage hang off of the bike due to gravity as I retorqued the bolts, I grabbed the slider and lifted it up as I screwed the bolts back in to proper torque. Now the vibration is gone.

I’m thinking maybe by letting it hang from gravity, the cage is sitting just a bit lower than it is suppose to, and when bolted in, maybe it is causing some twist somewhere, or slightly misaligned.
