Atown subframe R6

Well I was trying to install my new subframe but it was being a bit of a bitch. Do I need to trim the **** out of my battery tray or something? And the tank mount is low and behind the tank, looks like the sub needs to rotate up and forward almost an inch. Maybe I didn't hold the sub up as well as I thought when I was tightening it down? I guess I'm gonna mess with it tomorrow when I get off. But is there some catch to installing this heavy bastard? Installed plenty of stock ones and never had this problem with the tank mounting up. Please let me know if there is something I'm missing.

Re: Atown subframe R6

I cut the whole back half of my battery tray off. I tightened the top two bolts on the subframe first, kept the bolts in the lower ones, and put the tank on. then finished tightening the lower 2 bolts! I had to "persuade" the back tank bolt in but It made it through

Alright I'll try cutting my tray down some more and I'll redo everything. I didn't try putting the tank on until i had everything else back together. So that's probably were I fucked up on this thing. Not like installing the weightless POS stocker. Like I said I'll **** with it tomorrow, it's all gravy. If I'm still having problems then I'll hit up Atown.

Re: Atown subframe R6

Quick question, I was looking at Zeus' pics of his Atown sub. What is this pictured attached to the sub an addition frame brace? Or was that supposed to be there because I don't have that for sure. Figured I'd ask now so maybe i'd have an answer by the time I get off work to go mess with it.

Yea I guess so or maybe something else Zeus had. Either way doesn't matter. What matters is I got the damn sub mounted up and ready to go. **** YEAH!!! I tried installing it the way you did but I guess I didn't hold it up enough again, it lined up better but still a little off. Was kinda hard to hold the socket wrench the open end and the sub at the same time. Anyways ended up just putting the tank on with everything finger tight, put the GPR mount on the tank and screwed it down on the front then mounted up the rear. Then I torqued down the rear mount on the frame pulled the tank and tightened up the front. Now just to go buy a new dremel to cut the battery tray because my step dad burned mine up. He picked it up this morning and was toast by the time I got off work and went to pick it up.

OMR thanks for your

A2K, thanks bro you have always been helpful. I appreciate it!

.....And to Adam over at A-Town, dude your **** is beastly! Seriously this thing could survive probably anything besides thermite.
