Should I make my 97 GSXR 750 srad into a stunt bike?
Should I make my 97 GSXR 750 srad into a stunt bike?
So I've been riding motorcycles for about 8 years, not all year round buy usually a couple times a week in the summer. The bike I've had for about the past 5 years is a 97 suzuki gsxr 750 srad. I really love the bike. Now sure, I've done many power wheelies over the years, usually just on hard acceleration, but I never really tried getting them real high, or learning balance point, or clutching them up on demand. Simply because of the money at stake, if I looped it. It would be a long time before I get another one.
Anyways, heres my dilemma, I'm trying to figure which would be a better idea.
1) Keep this bike as my nice bike, since I like it so much (even though its not in perfect shape, its got a few scratches and stuff, it still looks pretty nice), and buy some used beater bike for like $2k for learning good balance point wheelies and other stunting.
or
2) Buy a cage and maybe a couple other parts for this bike, and learn on it, and get a different "nice" bike shortly down the road, probably finding a good deal on an '04 or '05 or something. Since my budget is around $4k or less. I just don't really know how good of stunt bikes these srads make. Also, as much as I love the bike, I've never ridden anything newer, so maybe I just don't know what I'm missing. Although I have heard quite a few srad owners say before how they like them better than the newer bikes.
