r1 frontend on f4i?

i have a 2002 f4i with shitty conventional forks on it...i also have a complete frontend from a 2003 yamaha r1 (triple tree, forks, wheel, etc.) i am able to roll stoppies out decently on my 2003 r1 so i wouldnt mind this front end.... i know of people putting 929/954 front ends on f4is and gsxr750 frontends on 900rrs but has anyone done this or does anyone know if it will work before i rip this bike apart for no reason

Re: r1 frontend on f4i?

well 02-03 is one body style r1 the 04+ is different......did u use 03 or 04? bc i have 03 and i wanna put it on.....i also have a lsl 929 upper triple tree with the dirt bike bar mounts on it.....also i looked into the diameters of the bearing and the stock r1 and stock f4i lower bearing are the same but the upper bearings are different and if i shave off a milimeter all around on this upper bearing i am ordering it should fit like a glove......so ur saying the 929 upper clamp should fit on the r1 front end?
