advice on rotor and brake setup
advice on rotor and brake setup
first of all i want to know if its worth spending 100 bills to get a star rotor, i have the standard 636 rear wave rotor, but that bitch heats up like crazy, and the brakes start to go out little by little. running a brembo 16x18 with hohey dual caliber setup. Maybe turn idle down so im not on the brakes as much?? Another question i have is what is the best way to run your dual caliber setup. i have one line from the handbrake to one caliber, and vice versa with the foot brake. how would I get it to where my handbrake uses both? or is that too much?? or not as effective?? any advice would be great.
Re: advice on rotor and brake setup
the stock rear rotor is a star rotor you just need to ease up on the brake some and change your brake fluid because every time you boil it the boiling point gets lower and lower so you will get brake fade easier and easier ..
if you want both calipers working for the hand brake but not the foot then you will need to run an adapter

no there is a difference , the hohey is bigger but star makes the rotor on the 05 06 636 and i didnt realize you were talking about getting the big rotor kit from hohey i thought you were just talking about getting a stock replacement ..
i wouldnt say running both calipers is common but if i had a dual set up i would definetly make it so both worked with the handbrake ..
get a rear master adapter and use a double banjo bolt so one goes to the front master and the other goes to the second caliper that way you will use one caliper for your foot brake but both for your hand brake
Re: advice on rotor and brake setup
no i wasnt getting a replacement nor the big rotor kit, i swore i seen one on there that replaces the stock and has a bunch of slits in it
