sport max, do they hook up?

throwing a nice pilot power on the front of my bike today

I got a REALLY nice sport max, almost perfect tread for the rear..

Should I mount the sport max up, or should I just stick to this battlelax bt002r race tire I have already?

Wanting to know what would handle better in turns.. The battlelax was a race takeoff, but it wasn't as worn as other race takeoffs I've had

Re: sport max, do they hook up?

might as well do the sport max, then you don't have to mess with tires for a little while.

Re: sport max, do they hook up?

ive always found the sportmax to be a greasy tire, but i feel the same about race take offs too. so idk what my opinion is worth. ive never run a dunlop that i felt solid with. ive got qaulifiers front and rear now and my rear spins like a bitch when clutching up in the lots until its real hot.

+1

dude finally mounted this ******* sport max I have

******* GARBAGE, ABSOLUTE GARBAGE, WORST ******* TIRE I HAVE EVER ******* RODE ON!

I've rode all used tires the last 3 years, from the shittiest looking take-off's to pretty decent tires.. ALL have hooked up great, at worst, slipped a little while cold.

This ******* garbage sportmax, even after 30 minutes of solid riding in 95f weather, still slips on ******* staggards!

******* highchairs I couldn't even get up tell I was going about 10mph ,and the tire would slip so bad I would be at BP tell 25-30 or so

Ahh well, tire was on my bike 4 hours before I almost completely blew that piece of **** off. Just a warning, only take a sport max for free, don't pay for that piece of **** tire, worst ******* thing I ever ran.
Even worse, I just got a second used sport max that is ******* PERFECT... gonna sell that ****** lol

Btw I'm used to using COMPLETELY worn race take-off's, halfway decent brdigestone bt014's, pilot powers, or any sort of race take-off really, and ALL of them will not slipp at ALL cold as a mother ****** in a staggard.. Some will slip cold for spreaders/HC's.. But I've never ran a tire in my life that slipped on staggards at full temperature! :bang head

Hell my bt014 that I got out of the trash, and ran a full season and then a half season, I could still pull out of my garage in 35f weather, and ride a wheelie from the end of my driveway to the end of my block, sit down, spreader, whatever. Instant clutch to balance point.

edit: gonna throw that battlax race tire back on that I have, almost showing cords, still pull out in the rain and pop up easier then that ******* sport max lol

Re: sport max, do they hook up?

bto14's arent very grippy but i love the way they feel for circles , and sportmax's seem to hook better than the bt014 but i hate the way they feel for circles ..

strange that i would have such a different experience with them than you guys did

Yup hooking up is what dumlops dont do! they are more of a sliding tire.
there great if your a drifter because they slide but are sposed to give lots of feedback for a nice controlled slide.
I prefer the pirelli supercorsa's myself.
