HELP on twelves...so i can get circles
Alright, first off i've been riding for about 8 years. all the bikes i've had before have been pretty new and nice...therefore i've never had a chance to really get into stunting without saying goodbye to $11k for a new bike, anyways i have 3 bikes now and have finally set up my 05 r6 for stunting, its my 2nd r6 stunt bike. (First one just had a cage, dirtbars, 12 bar, etc.) NO HANDBRAKE. my NEW bike has a 62 tooth sick innovations cage, round bar, does have a handbrake, so i'm ready to start stunting. now don't think i don't know how to wheelie. i'd just rather be controlled than doing 120 on one wheel on my r1. i can ride stand ups for a mile no joke on my r6. but it's still faster than id like to go. i know i need to get the balance point down so its just doing the SLOW **** i need to figure out.
so: i need pointers, people are talkin bout slippin the clutch not dumping the clutch to get it to come right up? a little bit of explanation on that subject, also 2nd gear or 1st? i mean its got a 62 tooth sprocket so...also the best way to learn??? stand on the seat? sit down? foot on rear peg? i've seen ppl sit and keep the left leg on the pavement? i gotta parking lot thanks to a nearby trucking company...im running 10lbs of pressure in rear...i dunno just need some pointers. thanks guys.

Re: HELP on twelves...so i can get circles
I have been learning on 25... Everyone i have talked to said learning on higher psi will make it really easy to learn o's cause i wont have to get used to higher Psi.. and to tell you the truth i like the 25 feels really nice.
Re: HELP on twelves...so i can get circles
I went up from about 15-17psi to about 28 just the other day, im liking it better already.. If you havent banged the 12 bar a couple of times on the start you're probably not bringing it anywhere near high enough or close enough to BP on the start thus you're accelerating to it and defeating the purpose of what you're wanting to do. I know that was my biggest problem for a long time. Just getting it licked the last few sessions.
Re: HELP on twelves...so i can get circles
I can't even physically ride a bike with 10psi, it's all over the place, not to mention you'll destroy your rim, and teach yourself bad habbit..
Learn on at least 20psi, I don't even let my friends drop their psi any more, I have them go out on 32 psi

Re: HELP on twelves...so i can get circles
im learning too but from what i have read a million times on here...20 psi on rear tire..1st gear from a dead stop..im still trying to grasp the slipping of the clutch...dont touch the handbrake..use footbreak till you get balance point..
Re: HELP on twelves...so i can get circles
thanks for the advice...sounds like around 20-25 is the best. i'm gonna go practice tomorrow. still need to know bout the slippage of the clutch...i'll work on it.
Re: HELP on twelves...so i can get circles
Slipping of the clutch will come with seat time. Not really something anyone can explain to do its just all feel.
Turn your idel up so that the bike basically drives itself around in 1st gear. and Just start practice. I rode on the street for a long time before lots. and Having my idel cranked up helped me tremendously with all the slow stuff. The Bike does most the work Once your in balance point. Just control and cover that rear brake.
Since you have 8 yrs experience of riding and already know how to do wheelies just get used to 1st gear from a dead stop. Stand with your left foot back and get it up high in BP quick. And once your there idel will basically take over.
Dont be afraid to crash cause it will happen eventually. The bike is set up with the equipment to take it. Get out there and make some wheelies!
