of going -1 in the front rather than +3 in the rear?

I ask because I have no idea how to change the front sprocket, and I'd be saving the extra cash by just getting a little bigger rear.

if you're going to change one and get a new chain, its better to go ahead and change the front too, its going to wear your chain down quicker than replacing all 3.. its not too much to do all three 200 or so for a good size and just do it yourself, its not hard at all

 

the -1 will wear your chain out faster, but not enough to make a big difference

also, that small of a gearing change wont make too noticeable a difference in the feel of the bike

 

You would save more money by just buying a -1 front! And learning how to change it.

Sprocket's cheaper, and if you buy a rear you might as well buy a chain and front sprocket other wise it's going to wear really fast.

If your stunting though and just going down in the front I would go -2.

 

well, overall I'd like to go up a total of 10 in the rear, and rather than going -1 +6/7, I was just going to go +10 with a new chain.

I've heard that going down in the front is benefitial for it's easier on the motor/clutch, and as I'm not mechanically inclined, I don't know if that's true.

 

plus, taking my bike apart is not something that I can trust myself to do properly, lol

 

If your going to go with a chain and sprocket, make sure you get both new sprockets.

I think I would go -1 +7 than if you ever want less gearing u can just go to a stock front.


Oh ya, buy or download a manuel for your bike and it will tell you how to do anything you want to your bike!

Nope I bought 1 a long time a go. But I know a couple people have downloaded them off from sites. go to a suzuki site and see if they have a link for a manuel (sticky normally) or make a post saying that you want to download a manuel and someone will prob. send you 1!

 

i went through the same thing i got a 07 750 gsxr and it is really easy to change the front.... if you go down one in the front you wont see that much of change. i did some reaserch fount that you can go down -2 in the front on 07 gsxr 600/750 other years i dont know. becouse stock is one larger than most other makes so you can go down -2. so its the same as going down -1 up +2 and i like it. when im on the highway doing 70 my speedo says 80-85 so is going to through it off. i did the change about 4000miles into the chain and sprocket life and now im 11000 miles on it and it seems strong still. and i ride hard. and pop wheelies all the time. you can get a front one for 30 bucks.
