combos? advice?

So im getting better, still a beginner, but starting to work on combos. Is it better to practice them in idle or moving faster? im having trouble moving around, whenever i start to the bike gets real shaky and i feel like i about to dump it. im practicing them at both idle and 2nd gear wheelies, but i have troubles keeping it at bp in an idle wheelie. any advice or is it just try try and try agian....then fall, and try again?
thanks.
