2nd gear tank speader stock sprocket help
2nd gear tank speader stock sprocket help
I searched before posting this but didn't really find much of a answer. I have a stock R6 and I grab ahold of the handlebars and clutch the crap out of my bike at 40+ mph in 2nd gear and the wheel barely comes off the ground and I slide off the tank lol.
Any suggestions I know its possible without a tank dent and a stock sprocket, I run 20-24 psi in my tires and I am thinking about getting a different sprocket. I need a handlebrake as well but yea..
Any advice appreacited

Yea down one in front up two in rear is what some people are suggesting but what do you all think? Im not into anything else but doing wheelies & riding around with friends.

Re: 2nd gear tank speader stock sprocket help
Ive got an 07 R6s that is -1 in the front and a 48 tooth rear. It comes up pretty nice in second from 40 and slower either sit down or stand up. I really doubt it would come up very well sitting on the tank though in 2nd. Just judging from how much effort it takes ( clutch slip / RPM ) to go up in 2nd gear. Maybe if you get a 55 tooth rear sprocket or something...
Re: 2nd gear tank speader stock sprocket help
i remember the very first spreader i tried!!! no tank dent btw... so i clutch it up and i'm hanging on wit my legs get it up pretty high and let my letgs out... not a good idea... i slip completely off the back of the bike, holding on for dear life i wind up somehow off the side of the bike (which now landed on the ground) full throttle cause my hand is pulling and i can't let go (for whatever reason) i get dragged for what feels like a lifetime, sliding back and forth across the road untill such a point where i could no longer hold onto the handle bars any longer... Anyway i went flying one way my bike goes flying another
bad ending to a good day lol.
Moral of the story is... If you plan on stunting just do it right and dent the tank get the sprockets do what it takes to stunt right... if you want to ride street and just do some straight line wheelies than stick to that lol...
thats my
take it or leave it

Re: 2nd gear tank speader stock sprocket help
change the sprockets, with all ur weight up front i doubt u will be able to get it up in 2nd with stock gearing.
i would think -1 +3 at the minimum and u will be able to keep the chain u have. All depends on how much u stunt compared to regular ride if its ur stunter might as well go with -1 +5 or more u will do it eventually
