2006 R6 Sprocket & Chain setup help ?

wassup guys,

I need some advise on getting my new sprocket; i'm thinking to go with vortex 60r on my r6 along with a high tension 520 120length chain. Is there any chain you guys recommand or maybe another sprocket?

DID Gold Chain

Vortex 60r

Thanks

I'd say EK or RK over DID; I'd also recommend Sprocket Specialists over Vortex since Vortex seem to be too soft. PM me if you want pricing on either.

Why do you say DID? I'm just curious cause a few customers have had some stretching issues so I started directing people to RK and EK and haven't heard the same since.

Re: 2006 R6 Sprocket & Chain setup help ?

yeah, I just talk to my local shop and was told that 525x120 link won't fit for 60teeth on 06 r6? Do anyone know if this is true?

I believe stock '06 R6 gearing is 16 front/48 rear and if that's the case here's what you need. If you stick with a 16 tooth front and go with a 60 tooth rear you should be able to run a 120 link; The lowest you can run is 117 so the range would be 117-120 links.

I don't have my gearing sheet accessible so if I'm wrong on the stock '06 R6 gearing please let me know.

His is not an R6S, it's the new style R6 so I'm not sure if the gearing is the same....anyone know for sure?
