Changing f4i throttle cables

I switch the top cable but the bottom cable is damn near impossible to get to. Anybody know any tricks or can I take something off to get to it easier?

Re: Changing f4i throttle cables

I use 2 small flatheads. Took me about 5-10 minutes the first time, and 5-10 seconds now.

Use one screwdriver to push the cable so it lines up with the slot, then use the other screwdriver to push the round thing out of the hole

Re: Changing f4i throttle cables

Lord I hate working with them throttle cables. I just put them on after replacing the starter motor and it took me a ****** hour I have times where it will take 5 minutes and then like the other day took an hour. I have a tool which has a hook on it - I used that to hold the cable initially and get it near the hole where it mounts and then used a flat head to push it in while then taking that hook to pull the cable up so it lines up properly lol. Do work son. Youll get it. Its not really a hook - more like an l shaped screwdriver without that phillips at the end lol. I dunno what its actually called tho but yeah you get the idea.
