Stunt aid subcage problems

I have a 01 F4i that i just recently put a stunt aid cage on. i got the cage for a good deal and thought it would be great, but i ruined a tire from it rubbing on the cage. I would assume that getting a new shock or coil would help with this and wondering what is best for a F4i? also if there is anything else i can do to fix this, the cage was really designed poorly if it hits my tire, but it might just be my shock. i have the rear shock tightened up as much as possible and i can still bottom out my tire onto the bar by just laying over the pass. seat and grabbing the tire and pulling without much strength. Please let me know if its an old, wore out shock on my bike or if that's just what F4i's do. Any advice is greatly appreciated, this is very frustrating.

Re: Stunt aid subcage problems

SI or OMR .... stuntaid is gaaaaaabage ..... part of the issue is the design of the f4i but the reputable companies don't have issues with it

OK, but i only see one problem, with the folding pegs, if you tip to the exhaust side, wouldn't the peg just fold up and then you mess up your exhaust? i could be wrong, but that's what i looks like would happen from the pics...

My thoughts on solid peg subcages

People make non folding peg subcages cause they're easier to make not because they're better ...

Non folding peg subcages are dangerous if you flip a stoppie or if you catch a peg in the back of the leg , that and they cause more damage then good because they don't fold up in a crash and they give extra leverage so they tend to bend or break the subcage and the subframe ..

I fold my pegs up when im doing stoppies so i don't get stabbed in the back if i flip and there are other tricks like clutching up from the side where having folding pegs is better then non folding ..

On a side note i do rotate the peg brackets forward on there axis so the pegs don't try to fold up during a wheelie and this also put's your foot on the grippy part of the peg..

Below is a picture that explains why i only sell folding peg subcages
if you look close you can see that the tabs were ripped right off this f4i subframe and that is what can happen if the pegs on your subcage are solid ...OMR SUBCAGES with folding pegs are the way to go....

if the peg doesnt fold when u drop it, it puts a **** ton of leverage on your subframe and can twist the subframe or break the mounting tabs...omr subcage is where its at and ive experienced both.

if you lay your bike down on the exhaust side does your stuntaid cage keep the exhaust from hitting the ground ?

OK, that makes a lot of sense now. I didn't see that they folded the other way. Like I said, I am new to the stunting scene, and am still learning about all of this. Thanks for all your help, now that i look at it, and OMR cage is the way to go. On that note, is there a better main cage option than the SI or is it at the top?

si makes a diesel crash cage for the f4i
