Cages?

Doing my research before buying. I'm liking the sick innovations and the power stunt works products.

However, what si the difference between a crash cage, a subcage, and race rails?
I see small differences and i asssume they have to do with banking turns and weather you streetride or sue your bike souly for stunting. I plan on doing a good bit of street rideing so whats right for me? i plan on getting somthing i cna put some sliders on as well as rear sliders that way my bike is fairly safe for a tip over.

Re: Cages?

SI cages are awesome!

But if it´s for a 600rr maybe a Tygershark would work better due to that the 600rr have real low motormounts

Subcage is a stronger assembly for the passenger pegs, race rails is just rails that work as crashcage, but don´t hold up as good as a cage, instead they don´t take so much space

If you´re gonna spend much time in the lot, then buy a cage, if you´re just doing straight wheelies on the streets then race rails should be your choise

Re: Cages?

Thanks, every pic of the sub cages i looked at also had crash cages in the photos. It sound slike a set of race rails with pucks and some rear axil pucks are what i need, because i plan on hitting some twisties with friends as well.

Re: Cages?

i have 600rr and love my tygershark..

tygershark has a lifetime warranty on their cages, and use cold rolled solid steel..

SI has lifetime warranty on just the welds.. uses hollow steel tubing..

Re: Cages?

Does sound better i could make a tubed cage myself and if i wanted a nice one i know a guy that makes cages for rail bugies.

Do the tyger and SI both require cutting for a 600 rr? which one holds better under the bike, i liked the one that quad-bolted face to face on the bottom would prevent bottoming the bike out, i have done this.

Re: Cages?

Any opinions ont he MXD 3-point or street cage? to me the powerstunt works cage is built like a rock but its too much way to wide for my use. I'm leaning towards a tygershark, race rails or a street cage, just enough to save me damage but nothing for full time stunting.

Re: Cages?

I was snooping around other forums and heard they had poor customer service as well and decided against it.

I was looking at the tygersharks stunt versus street model, it looks identical except les warranty and my guess is solid versus tubeing as well.

Prefering the solid but they said the street model is better on curves anyone know how much better because the stunt model is pretty low profile itself? for the warranty i believe i'll go with the TS stunt model next month, since i just got a new set of tires and im looking around for good deals on sprockets as well i'll be broke for a week or two.

Yes they do. You have to cut a hole in your fairing for the cage to mount. All cages and race rails have to been done like this. unless your running SF.
