Re: dirt bike bars

buy vortex clip ons and run them flipped and pushed out and it will give you a feel similar to dirt bars but wont look stupid and its easy to replace the clip ons when u bend them instead of having to replace your whole bars. not to mention drilling your tripple weakens it and you need longer brake lines and have to get creative to reroute cables and ****. dirt bars = old and busted, flipped clip ons = new hotness.

Re: dirt bike bars

lol its personal pref. i love db bars and i wont ever go back...you sit more up right, move leverage to steer with, better feel all around in my opinion..much more comfortable ;P and a good set of db you can get for around $60...a badass set...$80

Re: dirt bike bars

just buy some pro taper oversize bar mounts $40, oversize contour pro taper bars or the new evolution pro taper bars...i like the carmichael (spelling) bend in either of those....$90 for the bars max....2(two) 31" stainless steel brake lines, $80 tops for custom made ones at a local place or you can order it online...1(one) 10mm double banjo bolt and 3 crush washers $10 tops....renthal medium compound grey grips (ones i like) $20...i think that about sums up what you need....looking at around $240 and thats everything you need...

Re: dirt bike bars

Take the left clipon off and flip i over place on right side. Do the same the other way around. They should be done in such a way that the angle is now upward instead of downward. Take them off and youll see.

Sorry dont have any pictures of mine yet.

Re: dirt bike bars

really depends on the bike for the clipon route...if you use stock ones sometimes the angle will be too much and will hurt your wrists riding all day....if you go the clipon route do vortex....

Re: dirt bike bars

ive run both flipped 636 clip ons and db bars.. i love db bars.. running the flipped clip ons my back would get sore from hunching over doing seat standers but with db bars i can almost stand up straight in a comfortable position.. when your doing tank tricks too you have a much better positioning to hold yourself to the tank.. doesnt take as much effort i think

but they dont look as good as flipped clip ons.. eventually i might go back just for the looks but for pure function i think db bars are 10x better then flipped clip ons

Re: dirt bike bars

Sorry, new here.. Does that mean you are drilling into the stock tree? Building a cheap street fighter and wanted to try the moto bars but dont really want to spend $300 for a new top tree..
