idle question..
idle question..
So I got a f3 to start learning :YEAH .. But I am having a hard time slowing it down. I was wondering if its cause im using too much rear brake or my idle isn't high enough.. My idle is at 2k. Too low or is it just me?
Re: idle question..
i bet your just not going back far enough. 2K should be plenty but you may have to turn it up little more.
I would try going back a little farther. Ride the rear brake if you have to but try going past balance point

Re: idle question..
alot of things on here is rider specific, everybody is confortable with different settings, i use 32-3500rpm, crack it up to balance point and its already slowed down enought to drag a foot or jump off for a stall, what you running for gears? that makes a diff' too...
oh yea like the riteous one says, don't kill the brake or you'll be logging in on one of the "brake" threads wondering why pads and fluid boils like water!!!or loose the brake due to fade and air in the lines and pancake!! if ya just tap that pedal, it'll be a bit easier on brake discs and your pocket man. it stalled???? hrrrmm...do those bikes have a tip sensor? if so, bypass it and be on with ur session son!

Re: idle question..
Yea I went out today and caught myself riding the brake. Just got use to doing it from doing wheelies on my gixxer. Also moved my idle up to 3k and I felt a improvement first try I slowd it down and held it for a few seconds just floating.

Re: idle question..
carburated bikes don't pull good on idle so i always crancked mine up high as **** on my carburated 6r ..try 4500 and don't be scared once it is up it won't idle that high ...
Re: idle question..
Omr is on the money there, I learned BP and struggled with idle on my 99 it's carbed, a lot of the posts say 2500-3500 rpm, but after experimenting over 4 grand worked a lot better on my carbed bike. The other problem is going behind BP it will bog/stall from fuel starvation.
Re: idle question..
Yea that was another factor I was thinking (carbs), but for 500$ can't beat it
.. I'll try 4 grand after I give 3k a little more practice cause it felt like I was starting to catch it. Thanks for the advice guys!
