Help a squid progress...
Help a squid progress...
Got a few Q's...did a quick search but couldn't find what I was looking for...
I finally started slowing my standups down to about 7-10mph on my stock 07 600rr. I'm consistent at them, but usually wind up stalling at this speed. Should I be able to go that slow for days on a stock 600? Do you think I could go even slower than that on stock gears?
I just ordered a idle cable so I can start learning to catch idle soon. What kind of tricks would you guys suggest a noob progress on to after learning to catch idle (specifically on a stock bike..no gears/cages/handbrakes)? Right now im working on endo's and slowing down my sitdowns. Just trying to learn the most I can without destroying my minty bike!

Re: Help a squid progress...
Honestly......all the steps that you would take next are going to get more and more technical........get a cage! One stall gone bad could ruin your minty bike w/out a cage. 7mph is pretty slow for stock gears....I would go one down on the countershaft sprocket to help w/ stalling, and to go a bit slower. Best advice I could give you is to get a cage, though. Tygershark makes a bitchin cage for your bike. Good luck!

Word, stalling isn't fun. Luckily no major damage yet from the slow wheelies, frame sliders saved my cases on the soft drops.
Ahh! Guess it's time for a dedicated stunt bike to learn on. Thanks for the advice.

Re: Help a squid progress...
You should have your idle aroud 3-3,500rpm it will allow to use very little or no throttle at all once yet get your balance point down
