Rolling Burnout Problems
Rolling Burnout Problems
I have been practicing rolling burnouts. But I been have some trouble. I have been practicing rolling burnouts from a roll. I lean over the hand bars with all my weight then apply the front brakes and apply more throttle. Instead of the back tire breaking loose the front tire starts to skid. which cause me to dump the bike or I pull in the clutch. I have no clue what I doing wrong or if something on my bike is set up wrong.
Re: Rolling Burnout Problems
try this, start from a stand still doing a normal burnout, and then put your feet on the pegs slowly letting out on the front brake, all while putting your weight over the front. As you get this, it'll be easier, in fact i still do mine like this sometimes.
Re: Rolling Burnout Problems
Do what your doing now, when you feel that front tire will skid soon clutch it up and give more gas, it should break traction without anyproblems, Dereks idea was good too, try both and see

Re: Rolling Burnout Problems
I never tried them from a stand still I learned them from a rolling start. I go about 4 or 5 mph then pull the front brakes in while leaning forward and dump the clutch at the same time and this will start the burnout. Then play with the throttle and brake till you feel comfortable and have fun.

thats the way i do them. just takes some practice. then you dont even have to think about letting brake in and out adjusting ur speed

Re: Rolling Burnout Problems
Usually i go about 8 to 10 mph and lean over the gas tank i compress the front end like im going to do a wheelie and pull in the brakes. the method i use helps brake the front end better. sometimes by front tire skids to but i checked the tire pressure and just corrected it alittle and it was fine.

Re: Rolling Burnout Problems
I've tried this, and it definitly works but I seem to always mess up on the braking while pulling the throttle... I tend to grab the brake to hard and damn near stall out and fall over! haha or i don't hold it enough and just eat through a $200.00 clutch! haha anways.. how do you hold your fingers on the throttle/brake?

Re: Rolling Burnout Problems
wow, I do them different then you guys. I get to about 20 mph or so, star braking slowly and then put my weight over the front end, pull the clutch and while i'm compressing the forks i rev and dump the clutch...That way i have a warm tire and already braking before I get the back tire spinning

Re: Rolling Burnout Problems
Yeah that was me. I lowered the tire pressure and it fixed the problem.
