can anyone help me i want to dent in my 2007 gsxr 600 tank, but i dont want to jackit up...thanks

 

id be more worried about the frame splitting at the welds in the front then denting yer tank.....

start by getting some friends to hold the bike straight up...dont leave it on the kickstand...stand on top of tank and jump on cap..use heel of foot to start cap...get that down pretty far for a start....then use a sand wieghted platic mallet...(not a rubber mallet) use the hard plastic kind with snad in it..like 5 pound dead blow..then beat around working from inside to the out...when u get the dish just about done get a ball pien hammer and smooth it the rest of the way out...chances are u might need a new gas cap when ur done..happens to alot of people...a: becuz u crack the cap, or b: cuz the cap doesnt sit staright anymore and leaks....get a vortex racing gas cap and it wont leak...heres some pix

i just did a 07 750 tank and put it on my 06 600. i fucked up and didnt take my time and paid the price i had a crease in it and went to town on it and put a crack in underneath the fuel cap any suggestions on how to fie will line x do the trick or is there something u use in case of these **** ups? want to save the trial and error stage as much as possible

 

get a rubber mallet. put the mallet on the tank, hit the mallet with a regular hammer. repeat.

 

get pissed off at someone and slam there head into it.... repeat if still pissed!

 

Jack it up.... *****!

 

get mallet or dead blow hammer, hit tank, repeat

I made the mistake of taking my front plastic piece off when i smashed mine in. Dont do that, cuz it wont go back on that great after. Also i like to smash it in by drawing the outline of where you want the smash to be. Take a deadblow and follow the outline with small dents. Then take a sweater put it over the gas tank and take a cinder block and bash it (hard and even)at the angle you want the front of the tank to take. It forms a perfect shape that you outlined as well as the angle you want the front to be. If you use your heels sometimes you can put more weight on one foot then the other and it will **** up. Follow up with a ballpein hammer to fix creases or bumps and your done.

the sit to detnt the fart to either smooth to perfection or blow the shat up

 

take a bowling ball and smash it down in two spots right next to eachother to create as grooves....gives it a nice round shape. u might want to put a blanket down first to stop the scratches
