Should I have a 12 BAR?

Well from the advice of some people on here and elsewhere I decided to get rid of the GSXR and get a 636. I can get a good deal on it and its in good shape and ready for stunting with powers cage and 12 bar and spoketed. The only problem I see is that it has a 12 bar and from what I remember thats not the best idea for a newbie. Im not sure why that is or if I rember correctly but if you guys can refresh my memory on wheter I should keep it on or notl. I guess you have to cut the tail to put the 12 bar on so if I take it off I would need a new tail section. Thanx for any help

Depends on whether or not you are going to stunt it or not. If you are, I am a big fan of the 12 bar as it helps give you a crutch to not loop, great for learning idle, etc etc etc so its great for slow stuff. If you hit it at a FAST speed and your a novice, you could kill yourself. That sun it up for ya?

It helps yes. but why would having the bar make it more dangerous for a novice? Is it becasue when you hit in the back without the bar you just msash the tail where as when you have a 12 bar it just stops and theres no give?

Also what do you guys mean about learning idle? Is that learning how to get the bike up on one wheel with haveing you idle set high and not useing the throttle once its up?

Re: Should I have a 12 BAR?

Ive read a few stories on here about peeps getting really fucked up with a 12 bar. This one dude posted pics of his thigh ****** ripped wide open. Looked like a damn shark bite. That I read that this guy flipped and endo and the bar hit him in the back of the neck parolizing him. Im in the prosses of scraping now but Ive been told to learn on the tail because if you gorilla scrape you may snap your sub frame. Plastic is much more forgiving

Re: Should I have a 12 BAR?

depends on how much money u wanna spend on replacing subframes... i fortunatly have never looped ive been riding for a month and am hittin the bar idles workin on circles and combos so yea i did improve really fast (from what people say) but if your a new i recommend a round bar its forgiving but is still back there in case u loop .. u may not use it now or even ever but that one chance you do loop or u do rock past bp your gonna be glad u had it... first time i 12d i thought i had like a good 6inches still before i hit the bar so i leaned back just a little for and their i was on the bar scraping already... hope this helps u cuz im glad i put mine on i didnt think i was gonna be scraping for atleast a year but hear i am 1 month fresh and already scraping and tapping it...good luck
