Spreader circle help

ok, idling spreaders all day long, now I wanna turn em, but the bike just trucks on straight! I was running 20-25psi in my last tire (new 207 went on last night) all the time depending on how recently I pumped the tire back up(damn leaks!) My tire is perfectly round and I can circle left and right on it fine, but spreaders DONT want to turn .

Is there a trick, like pushing the bars down on one side, twisting my body into/away from the way I want to turn, turning the bars seem to help at all????

These are frustrating me right now!

Re: Spreader circle help

i find the easiest thing to do is let the bike drop way in almost to the bar then i lean my shoulders to the direction i want to go then a blurp or two on the gas till it settles into a nice smooth circle

Re: Spreader circle help

Normally the problem is when you dip it in, the bike falls in the circle too hard. Sounds like you aren't committing or you may be going too fast. I pull myself close to the bars and throw my shoulders in. Make sure you are looking into the circle too.

lean to the inside while the bikes slowing down to make it fall in, put all your weight on your inside *** cheek. Then tap the brake enough to get the top of the bike to catch up with the bottom

Re: Spreader circle help

when i first did these i found myself letting the front tire get to low... keep the front tire high and, yeah, defiantely cover he clutch...

I actually learned 50/50 before i got spreaders...

Re: Spreader circle help

looks like I'm gonna have to lose some weight or get popeye arms! I have to use my index finger on the brake and hold on with the other 3....I'm 260 lbs so I gotta grab onto everything I can! haha

I definately slow enough, ALOT slower than coming into SS circs.

When I've been trying I 've tried what seemed like everything to get it to lean in....last time I was trying to put my foot on the slider and push it in, but it didnt't want to go. I might try what OMR said and drop it back a lil extra to lean it in. I aint skurred of no stall in a spreader......stalling a HighChair would make my poo-hole pucker tho!

Before flaming...I DO cover the clutch in SS circs and everything else, I just dont think I have the strength to hol my fatass on there with two fingers!

Re: Spreader circle help

Spreader circles are harder than 50-50 or highchair circles... a clutch is a must.. it's not too bad because you can get out of them easy with your emergency back to SS skills. Keep practicing bro.. they're VERY similar to a sitdown circle, and you definately have to keep that front end up else your circling is finished.. occasionally when I had a 12 bar it would tap that coming in.

Re: Spreader circle help

it's not the stalling that's the bad part...it's the highside...the high sides are nasty as hell

Re: Spreader circle help

well, I can tell this is gonna suck to learn!

I can get highchairs just as slow and can cover the clutch easier in highchairs....should I be trying that first, then start jogging and doing crunches at home to get my fatass down to spreader circle weight? haha

as a chain of progression I was thinking spreader circles, special k circles, then lastly highchair circles. If theres a easier progression, share it with me!
