03 636 blinker switch relocate

i know a lot of guys remove the blinker switch from the clip ons to have more room to put the HB lever where they want it. do you eliminate it or mount it elsewhere? i ride street a lot and still wanna use blinker switch. without it mounted to a bar tho the high idle lever wont work or stay in, is it better to just turn idle up when stunting in the lots or is there a way to keep the high idle lever in the switch assembly and relocate it. seems much easier to pull that lever than to have to reach back to turn idle up and down all the time

its a fuel injected bike. there is no choke it just raises your idle to warm up the bike

Re: 03 636 blinker switch relocate

it richens the mixture and is not a good way to raise your idle ,you should use the idle cable because it is that same as turning your throttle

i just used a long bolt to bolt my left hand controls to the side if my speedo

Re: 03 636 blinker switch relocate

sweet good deal, i'll take it off and just relocate the blinker switch then. you got a pix of how you actually mounted yours, sounds like a good idea

Re: 03 636 blinker switch relocate

no pics because i now have a stunt stay so its just ziptied to that now but just take out the bolt on the side of your guage mount and replace it with one long enough to go through your hand controll and i put a peice or rubber hose over the polt just to be safe and i used a big washer on the end of the bolt to hold every thing in place

Re: 03 636 blinker switch relocate

I've been thinking that it's possible to install two clip ons on the same fork tube, so that the top one is normal, but the lower one is stubby, shortened so short that it only holds the switch.

Re: 03 636 blinker switch relocate

I had the same setup as TL miller... though I just took off that stupid idle choke cable, and cut a bit off with the dremel. pushed it all the way into the handbrake and it was good. The grip almost fit, it hung over the edge of the clip on by about 1/4".

Re: 03 636 blinker switch relocate

I just cut a small piece off of some old dirt bars I had and mount switches on that so the choke still works and then zip tied it next to speedo
