Need help steering wheelies
Need help steering wheelies
I have been practicing for a while doing highway wheelies. The only prob I have is that I cant steer them. 99% of the time they tend to go left. I do stand staggard, and I have tried to shift my weight to the right of the bike as far as possible. They are high up-11 to 12 o'clock. Ive tried with 25psi and 42 psi. This is the only thing from keeping me from riding them for miles. Eventually I run out of road and have to put them down. When they do happen to go dead straight i can ride the hell out of them. Im on a 00 cbr 600. Anyone have any other advice. Real advice. Please dont bother posting if your just gonna say practice. I've been trying for months. Thanks

Re: Need help steering wheelies
i'm a noob and still chasing bp but check this,
instead of shifting your weight up top... Push on your right peg more (not hitting the brake). You know? Instead of moving your upward body, push with your feet to transfer weight..
post back what happens, be safe

Yea i was running 25ish psi and someone told me to try it at stock psi. I know im at bp. I'll concentrate more on the pegs rather than body shiftin. I'll prob be out sunday. let you know how it goes. But thanks

Its stock when the label on the side of the bike says it is. Didnt mean that to sound d*ck. Dont have any film. Lowered the rear tire down to 20 psi. I could definately tell a difference and i was able to steer them. Guess that was the trick. thanks for your info.
Re: Need help steering wheelies
Pull behind BP like your slowing down and shift your weight.. The tire PSI isn't stoping you.. and at 42 you should have been all over the road...
Oh and post video so we can laugh when your 12 is actually 9:30...
BTW
<~~~ This is 12 incase you missed that in school.. doubt your doing that on the highway and asking these questions...

Re: Need help steering wheelies
Well I tried a bike a few months back and couldn't fugure out why the thing always pulled right!....Going round even a gentle left bend was nearly imposible and then my mate noticed that the one side of the sprocket was chewed by the chain!.....Who ever had replaced the back wheel had put one of the adjusters on back to front and even though there were equal threads showing the back wheel was not straight to the bike!.....Just a thought if its always pulling left...make sure its all straight!

First off if you where at 12 or what you think, you would be at bp. Secondly, you need to be at bp or behind to steer them. Also hate to say it but practice.
