Throttle control

I was just wondering if anyone had any good advice for mastering the throttle. On my bike i have a little play in the throttle and i was also wondering if that is normal. It has like a 1/4" turn where there is nothing then after that 1/4" is when the throttle actually opens. Any advice would be great appreciated.

Re: Throttle control

First you put both feet on the rear pegs.then just put your hand on the grip with your wrist curled way under. like your figers are trying to touch your for arm. then when you lean back you naturaly have to twist it perfectly.. then when you lean into it, it lets off.. give her a shot..

Re: Throttle control

I'm learning myself, but try and take as much weight off your wrists as possible, so when you bring it up, you can choose when to apply force to the throttle and how much you need, as a posed to your weight + gravity= loop

On your throttle cables were they come out by the throttle tube there are adjustments on the cable.

Loosen them and tighten them. move it one way a little and feel if the throttle gets tighter or sloppier. And you can go from there and get it to were the slightest movement will open the throttle.

Re: Throttle control

all bikes have a little play in them. you can adjust it though. Just read your manual, how to change everything is in there. Do you have a GSXR right?

Re: Throttle control

yeah i have an 04 gixxer 1000. I bought the service manual for it right after i bought the bike. I didnt think about looking in there because i dont like to read. but i checked it out and it gives pretty clear instructions on how to adjust the throttle play.
