Id get of course a crash cage, and ur set.. u really dont need to add any other **** untill you get used to stunting period..

my 01 gsxr has a set of upper bars, New built Subframe with a 12 bar and thats about it.. besides the 64 tooth sproket

Id get a sproket too..

Re: newwwb to stuntin'

hmm, i was planning on just getting some long *** frame sliders... for now i think stock gearing should be fine until i can BP it in first gear eh? i think i can prob do that easily but i cant really ride it too long before my bike is redlined.. ive been messing with wheelies for maybe 2 weeks now , no really long sessions in a lot or anything although i plan to do that soon. most likely i will learn staggered wheelies in first and work on getting it to the bp there, and then go from there.. i tried a staggered power wheelie before ( lame i know) and my wheel ended up turning and i came down like that, sort of scary but i can correct that easily im sure. thanks for the reply..

Sounds like you have a good plan of attack, everyone will have varying advice as far as learning so here is my .

look around the site and read as much as possible on EVERYTHING to get an understanding of how other people do their own **** and it will give you a better grasp on what were saying when we give you advice.

You have a gsxr 600 which is fine to start learning on. I would absolutely recommend a crash cage rather then frame sliders. Frame sliders will do a okay job to protec some of your plastics and MAYBE your case covers and frame, BUT are no where near enough protection for learning to stunt. There is a great possibility of falling and with this risk you need to be as careful as possible with your bike or you will be replacing case covers clip on's rear sets and various other parts that a frame slider wont protect.

cages cost between 200-300 on average which is what you would shell out and then some on ONE hard crash!!!

as far as learning although 1st gear will be very touchy it is best to find a nice open parking lot and practice in 1st gear. Try to learn staggered stance at first it will give you more control over the bike and you dont have as much of the OH **** feeling when gettin to balance point as with a sit down....

I would try and get the bike going between 5-10mph and learn to clutch it up....just work a little bit at a time couple inches higher each time....before you know it your comfort zone will vastly increase!

Re: newwwb to stuntin'

When I was learning some peeps told me to go like 15-20 then clutch it, then one day some guys where out at the spot and there like SLOW DOWN!!! 10mph tops, the minute i started slowing down i progressed 10 fold from what I was doing.....slower the better!! he will pick up speed enevitably but my personal opinion is that would be a good learning speed!!

Re: newwwb to stuntin'

its helpful for us if you can get videos or pictures of you practicing...its harder for peeps to give advice when we cant see what you are or are not doing !!

Re: newwwb to stuntin'

I learned to clutch it up from nearly a dead stop, rolling at 2-5 mph at the most. Makes it easier

Re: newwwb to stuntin'

yea ill get pics at least, i wanna get at least sliders before i mess around with it too much .. i wont go all bi-polar like that other guy either.. so clutch it up and then roll on the throttle a bit and try and ride it out? or should i be trying to clutch it directly to BP and not try and ride em out till i get to bp

have you ever wheelied a bike before?? whats your expirience level??

if your BRAND new i would work on just getting it a lil higher at a time, you will find that BP is VERY VERY far away at firsst lol dont get frustrated just keep at it!

Re: newwwb to stuntin'

umm i used to ride a dirt bike for a couple years and i got this street bike at the beginning of summer and took the msf course and i feel really comfortable on my bike, ive been messing with power wheelies then after reading these forums i learned that those arent the best choice so i was working on clutching in 2nd but its sort of scary going 40+ and trying it , so clutching up in first is the best choice it seems.. and its easy to get up.. but i felt comfortable doing power wheelies but i couldnt really ride them that long because i was redlining 1st..

Re: newwwb to stuntin'

you'll continue to redinline until you learn to control the balance point at which point you will learn to keep the wheelie at a constant speed

stick to 1st and go practive fore 107347029308203805702938 hrs !!

Re: newwwb to stuntin'

are you talking to me directly? or just asking in general.

there are tons of guys on here that could bring the bike up in 1st gear and ride it til they ran outa gas or died of being tired....as long as you can control the balance point of the bike via brake and throttle control you can wheelie for MILES! DAYS YEARS Lol

Re: newwwb to stuntin'

im not sure what the best cage option would be fore gixxer.... but you can try and look through some old posts

some tried and true cages are

sick innovations

freestyle ingenuity

tygershark cages

those are where i would start!!

Re: newwwb to stuntin'

think the tygershark cage for 190 is good enough? (standard street cage) .. doesnt have the same warranty as the stunt one which doesnt matter much to be , jw if it is good enough to learn with
