Still strugling

I got a 04 600rr with -1 +11 gearing. Im fooling around wiht idle trying 2500 to 3000 and find its not enough, find it a bit choppy. At around 3200 it feels a bit better but stalls easy even up to 3800 I keep stalling the bike. Im not using much brake at all, im barley using it but I still keep stalling and I can only ride idle for a little ways before she will start to stall. Im going to try to get a video up the weekend. I would think im draging to much brake but im barley using it so im kinda stuck and not gettin any farther ahead with it.

Re: Still strugling

turn the idle higher... when u reach idle u want to learn to use body weight mostly instead of brake

Re: Still strugling

ya, a couple of my buddies are geared around what you are +11 and +15 they usually set idle around 3500-4000

try and snap it straight to bp and jus let it catch and like wheeliest said use body position and tap the brake to jus keep the idle going !!!

just my .02

Re: Still strugling

side note on this subject since you also have a 600rr how do you like the hole in the seat cuz that pass peg staggered is shitty for people that are tall or even semi tall my left leg is always bent its really hard to straighten it out feels wierd....im thinkin bout doing the passenger hole mod..idk yet though

Re: Still strugling

learn foot on seat. takes all the weight off your arms and makes balancing the bike much easier, takes about 20-30 clutch ups to get use to and a week end for the cramping to stop, but def alot better position then stagg

Re: Still strugling

it will come up fast with good pre-load and minor clutching... you'll learn theres alot of body english with doing foot on seat, but at higher speeds it can get real squirrely... so dont chase it to long. try to get about mid range rpms and drop it back past bp and slow it down.

Re: Still strugling

side to side since your weight is in the middle and right side of the bike, some people do it high speed in second n **** but **** that, i will only goto rev limiter in first and float it into a scrape.

Re: Still strugling

I am still a beginner but my buddy set up my bike pretty good... Idles at 4 grand on my bike and i am running -5/+5.... Rides idle pretty smoothly with light rear brake adjustments.... Maybe time to change up your gearing a little more? I know mine would always bog down if i tried popping it up really slow until i changed the gearing...

Check out sprocketspecialist.com.... Only place i could find a sprocket less then 14 for my bike... Other companies refuse 2 make them

Re: Still strugling

just rape the brake and throttle it back and you'll have lots of control...
