Re: Problems getting it up in 2nd

TY all so much for the advice!!! I would like to get my carb. rebuilt! Anyone know someone in Cincinnati that can do it for cheap? By the way I live in North College Hill! Is there a way I can make it full injected and chalk up the whole Carb. thing? That way people don't clown on me? I love my bike and want to keep it! Now it's been raining and have not got a chance to give it a shot from 9Krpm to 12krpm but will give it a try, I was thinking that I would of wanted to start at 6 or 7krpm's! (Still don't think it will work, but will try) By the way, what is the deal with all the colors? ( i only like the green) I have no clue what everyone is talking about! I would like some insight( not a gear head) and will this help my bike if I get some green? I think it needs, because I have spent over a G on the thing since I'v had it, and would like to fix it and stop complaining about the thing, I think people that I ride with are getting sick of me!

Yea man JFYI were joking about the power bands. Any luck with whats going on with your bike? Like everyone else said learn on that beat the **** out of it then once you get good pick up something else. If not sell the bike and get a 50.

Yeah we're, well IDK if were pullen anything on ya but, honestly you could just say **** it and gear the hell out of it. If your not conserned with how fast your bike goes throw a pizza cutter on it meaning something 57+ for the rear. If not try like say -1 down on the front sprocket and 3 up in the rear that should give you more then enough.

Re: Problems getting it up in 2nd

is that pretty expensive? Do you know a web site I can go to get these sprockets! I would think that your advice would make my bike quicker with more tork! Is that the case? TY matt for all of your help, I am thankfull!

Re: Problems getting it up in 2nd

It would make it quicker but thats not what your looking for say your bike is going like 130-150 now in 6th if you were to get it like mine and many others it would go like 100-90 tops meaning redline at 100. This in return would make your throttle very snappy so unless you have good throttle control its hard to compensate cause when you let off the throttle there is going to be a lot of engine breaking. I ordered a kit from sprocket specialist with a new chain and sprocket it ran like 140 something in change cause I had to have it put on cause I don't have a punch to knock out rivits or to seed them. Shouldn't cost you anymore then what I said. Mine is aluminum which people say is bad compaired to steel but I haven't had any problems as long as you matainence you bike and keep a eye on it you will be fine but I would go with something thats steel. Check out HAI.com they will get something set up for you and have all your stunting needs. Later.

Re: Problems getting it up in 2nd

It does have a very sensitive throtle, but has a gurgle for a split second before it finally picks up speed! This only happens when I am really getting on it!( like trying a wheelie) Any clue, could this be the carb?

Re: Problems getting it up in 2nd

I dont think it will come up very much when I couldnt get second up on my rr i remember clutchin it so ****** hard and bouncing but my timing was off jus alil and i was afraid so i was subconciously leaning forward......

but yes i will forwarn you that if by chance you follow those steps and your timing is right...your bike will wheelie and it will do it very well and very fast so better be on that brake

my personal belief is that if you cant rock bp in 1st you got no business rockin bp in 2nd man....I'm still learning myself and i have played with 2nd myself and i can tell you 2nd and 3rd come up quick and smooth but quick none the less and if your not watchin your brake or have an amazing throttle hand you will loop and this time you'll be gong 40+

Re: Problems getting it up in 2nd

As I said before: dont waste your money on that bike. We are only talking from experience. Have you spent any time on a newer bike? It really is like night and day. Just keep riding till its dead. Its probably as good as it will ever get. Just save and buy a new one. I work at a dealer and see people spending more on those zx7 and zx9s than they are worth. Keep it if you must but dont spend on it please new bikes are cheap anyway
