swapping gears
swapping gears
so i busted the teeth off my rear sprocket and im thinking of buying a chain and sprocket kit. im going up 5 in the back and im currently 14 in the front and i was thinking when i buy this kit to get a 16 for the front so i can go back and forth from 14 to 16 depending on how far i have to drive seeing that my bike is my only way to get around. now here is the question i have is by doing this would i be able to keep the same chain and just adjust it. thanks for the help
Re: swapping gears
5 up in the rear = new chain..... You do know if you go up 5 in the rear, and up 2 in the front that they'll kind of cancel each other out and put you back at near factory spec.

Re: swapping gears
If you have (stock/+5) and then try to go to (-2/+5) then there's a chance that your chain is gonna have to take some links off. Unless maybe it's all the way at the front of the adjuster so you have some room to play with. (-2/+5) is equal to about +11 O_o What kind of wheelies do you do? cause if it's freeway **** then that's a lil overkill.
Re: swapping gears
???? 2 teeth difference on the front isnt goign to make a huge differance. Its not worth the hassel to change your gearing by that little bit??? Whats are you trying to accomplish? im confused.
