Re: Stoppies

There is no quick way to learn them. The safest way is to spend two hours a day and go up and down the street. Only practice STOPPIES not rolling stoppies till you can get maximum height every single time you attempt it. Only then are u ready to start rolling them. When u can do that rolling them is a whole different beast. The back end kicking to one side will have you pissed off. You will then realize that your not high enough. The key is practice, practice, practice and then when you think you should go home practice some more. do as I say at least you will approach them safely. They will come in time.

Re: Stoppies

i really don't think that anyone is gonne give u a time frame on how long its gonna take for it to come up.

u just gotta feel it thru practice.

start slow....if it doesn't come up, use more brake...etc...etc

Re: Stoppies

lets put it this way BP on a stoppie is where you think its gonna go over but its really not just mash throttle in first gear let off pull iun clutch and front brake at same time when bike dips down grab a lil more just squeeze it firm not too fast or you lock up tire. make sure tire is warm first or its a instant lock up

Re: Stoppies

I used to be scared sh*tless of the front tire locking up. Untill about a month ago that is. I had it happen about 1 out of 4 atempts (the lot was still sandy from this winter). As soon as you hear it skid just let off the front brake and its all good. I was only going about 25/30mph and I know it will be a lot diff. at higher speeds but it was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

Re: Stoppies

i learned rolling stoppies from 30-50mph just rollin em... just to get a feel for being on the front tire. To get a feel for the ballance point i would roll up to stop sign's and red lights and just get them higher and higher each time till i got a feel for it... It's one of them things where you have to practice and get a feel for it. I think if everyone explained how they do stoppies on here they would all be different. It's all the same fundamental's but people learn them differently

I used to practice em on my 50 in a parkin lot with parkin spots. Sometimes for hours and hours seein how many parking spots i could squeez out of a stoppie. I started doin the same thing on my gixxer. For me it seems easier to progress if i have marker's to go by. Start with 2 parkin spot's. Find a sweet spot. Work for 3, then 4, then 5 and so on. I dunno. Just something that works good for me

Re: Stoppies

Set your forks up .
You want it to compress fast and decompress slow.
Take your time! It wont happen over night .
When you squeeze your brake let the forks compress then squeeze a little more to bring the back up. That will help.Don't just get a handful of brake to get it up .
