05 R6 Master + 954 Brakes a bad combination?
05 R6 Master + 954 Brakes a bad combination?
My F4i has a 954 front end with a 05 R6 master cylinder with Steel braided brake lines.
The problem I am having is no matter how many times I bleed it, the brakes feel really really underpowered. The brakes also have new brake pads, and bleed litterally at lest 15 times with a bleeder tool at the calipers and nipple at the master cylinder. It is really smooth no doubt, but it does not have the hard progressive bite like my 05 gix 1000, or even the orginal f4i brake setup.
I am wondering is it a problem that the piston size on the master does not match with the 954 brakes?

It could be the problem. Try a 954 master.

I have an 01 gix 600. stock master and 954 calipers, bites instantly. Try taking BOTH calpiers off and pump the master untill the brake pads touch and press together, if the pads are real low, make sure you dont pop a piston out, its reverse bleeding, works wonders. If that dosnt work, have bent rotors?

Naw, the rotors are perfectly striaght. Ill try the brake bleed with the pads touching method and see how that goes. I am considering getting a brembo MC for my gixx and moving the gix MC over to the F4i........
