what is YOUR preferred clutch method?
method 1:
rev....keep revving, quickly disengage and engage.
method 2.
get rolling....disengage....rev up...engage
wadda you prefer? 1 or two?
...i personally prefer 2 because thats how i learned and i'm used to it tho i see most stunters doing method 1 so i'm thinking about switching over to it....wanna learn standups along the way also....i just figured out the 1st method last night...
note: i can't do a wheelie myself....i can pop it up but i can't ride it out.

Re: what is YOUR preferred clutch method?
depends on what your doing...if you want to catch some speed for a coaster for example, you ain't gonna pop it up from dead stop, (meaning REV, DROP) but get rolling and rev-slip clutch...if you wanna pop it up fast and roll slow, than you rev and drop from dead stop...

wadda you mean by that?
whenever i go to the stunt spot, the ones popin wheelies always rev once and dump the clutch.
but when i'm doing method 2...i usually rev a few times(1-3) to kind of make it accurate and get it to around around 9-10k rpm and THEN i dump the clutch....am i doing it wrong?

I learned with method 1. IMO it has less steps so its easier. Just roll-on and flick the clutch in and out with one finger. If the bike didnt come up give it more gas on the roll-on.

when i was learning i used to rev it a bunch of times before i released the clutch. now i just rev it up and release at the same time. do whats most comfortable.

Re: what is YOUR preferred clutch method?
i pulled my highest wheelie today....sitting down, 20psi rear, rolling 10, reved up to 10or11 and popped theclutch...the bike flew off, i thought i was gonna loop it but i killed the gas and i slammed down...
i think it was an 11 o'clock....but maybe thats just how it feels in my head.
also got pulled over by the cops...me + my friend with his 110cc pocket bike....no ticket but they said that a bunch of the neighbors called and said that we were "disturbing them"......right when i dropped from a 9o'clock wheelie (stop sign), i saw the cop, i pulled over to the side-walk as if i was parking and he came up to us.....lucky there was a 18 wheeler parked on the side so they didn't see me doing the wheelie or else i woulda gotten the ticket.......i was so happy when they left.

Re: what is YOUR preferred clutch method?
i tend to get most of mine going from a standstill so have the clutch in and slip it out whilst giving it a very small amount of gas and pull on the bars so bike sounds like its coming up on its own. i practiced for a long time just coming to a stop and then staying there for as long as poss till i had to launch it gives you alot of control like that and helps when trying to find idle.
