Yeah, I remember water ski style wide open highway wheelies with no idea what the crap the rear brake was for.

NOPE, sadly I jumped off the back of the bike when I "thought" I was going to loop. Furthermore, the bike had a "11o'clock" bar at the time and it wasn't even close to scraping. Gear up when your learning ANYTHING new

Re: Did you learn wheelies WITHOUT crashing??

I crashed a bunch of times tryin to learn slow wheelies (idle) and how to use the rear brake... it pretty much took me an entire summer to learn... this is when the most damage was inflicted on my bikes. I think I went through 3 cages in one season.

But on the other hand.... I learned circles in about 2 weeks of concentrated practice and didn't crash all that much at all.... more stalling than anything.

True story...I"m very impressed with his skills at keeping the bike from touching the ground. Some people just have a nac at keepin control of their ****. I learned all the way up to idle foot on seat one handers without crashing, then started scraping and have been crashin like a champ since.
