bar mounting?

ok, so I see all the bars are mounted to the side of the subframe...Im making mine and think it would be better for it to go through the subframe (better support, one bolt on each side is enough)...Is there any reason why it shouldn't? is there any reason why almost all of them are on the side?

Re: bar mounting?

Had a custom made one that went through the subframe and on the sides and it worked well.

Re: bar mounting?

i think most are on the out side because its easier,no supports in the way...
show a pic when your done ...

ps... the hand break set up you showed in that other thread was very interesting... however i think maybe it might be a little over designed..
but i cant feel how good it works so i may be wrong

Re: bar mounting?

I have a pretty long way until I hit the support in the upper tube, but the lower one is unusable in that way cuz theres an obstacle just at the beginning...I have some ideas with converting suitcase carrier into a bar...it goes in the subframe as well as beside it...not very long, maybe 12-13 inches...then also I could use its case mounts to put sliders to protect tail, or as a gay rear peg, lol
