F4i DB bars pics
anyone have close up pics of their stock triple drilled for db bars? top and bottom of triple or what type of mount are you running and other than a longer brake line did you have to get a longer clutch and throttle cables?
thanks
thanks
Re: F4i DB bars pics
i just tried this and honestly... don't bother.
the stock triple is so thin and brittle... and there's only one good spot to drill (there's 2 circular casting marks on the bottom), which makes the bars way too close to you... feels good just riding, but once standin up in a wheelie they're uncomfortably low.
go w/ a custom top triple or some of those clip-on risers (lsl makes em i think) that can be reversed to get the bars in front of the fork tubes. The stock triple can only be drilled so the bars are behind the top of the tubes... which sucks. I went right back to turned out clip ons.
no pics sorry.

Re: F4i DB bars pics
i have renthal bar clamps with renthal fatbars drilled into my stock f4 top clamp and those are pretty comfortable when standin up and ridin, and only cable that needed to be legnthend was the clutch cable, ill get pics up soon. Also i dont know if the f4 and f4i top clamp is different or not.
Re: F4i DB bars pics
The mount is key...
if you do it right, stock brake lines will be just barely long enough... and clutch line is more than enough.
Renthal 7/8 ultra low road bars... just like clip-ons but wider and plenty of room for all controls AND handbrake.
Bar bends, rise, clamp position, ect... it's really all personal preference... but for circles ect you need to be up on top of the bike not hangin off the back, and in order to do that the bars need to be up further up front and LOW.

Buy a Vortex top triple tree if you want added strength use tag mounts and my choice of bar found through HAI scary Gary bars. Check out the HAI web site I think you can get everything through them and they are fast on shipping.
You shouldnt need to buy longer lines all of mine are stock rocking a 929 front end with no problems.

Reminds me of a Missisippi boy I rode with.. I noticed his clamps were loose and he was like yeah.. Fu(k it.. like an hour later his ride was ghost riding into the woods and he was still holding the bars...
He could kill it though.
