I have an 01' Gsxr 6 swapped with an 04' 1000 front end. I think the lower triple is slightly bent. So my question is, can I fit a 2006 1000 front end on there. I'm going to try to swap everything except the top triple of the 2006 front end and keep my 2004 top triple so the ignition lines up. Anyone know for sure if this will work or not? If the steering stops are different? If the fork tubes are the going to match up from the 2006 lower triple to the 2004 top triple? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

my friend swapped 06 front end to his 02 gsxr 1k and he had to use the top top and lower tripple. fork diameter is different so u gotta use 06 tripples.

 

^ swap to a 06' front end so you can have busted fork seals every other day.

I have an '04 1000 front end on it now and haven't broken a single fork seal. I tend to not pound my front end into the ground repeatedly . But let me ask, are you saying the 2006 fork seals are weaker than the other thousand seals, 600 seals, or 750 seals? Cause I would think they would be better and stronger considering they are a newer model and made for repeated braking at high speeds. The reason I might swap is because my lower triple is slightly bent and I want to put DB bars on and they would be retarded with the slightest bit of crookedness. Anyone else have any info??
