one fluid motion of clutch and gas. its not a dump. its a smooth slip while rolling on some throttle.

I've ridden the new gixxer and it cluthes up smooth......I don't think they have much midrage so when u power wheelie there is a spot in the power band that will make the front wheel jump up.......learn the clutch and find the BP then u don't have to worry about the powerband biting you

no way around the clutch, you have to learn it or you're doomed to failure. start out going slower, like 15. I'm out to go clutch some up right now, peace.

Not bad, you are getting the idea. I strongly suggest that you stand staggered, it is much easier to learn than sitdowns. It will feel awkward as hell, but it is well worth it.

Do you think I should try to do first gear instead of second?

do you remember anything you read from the wheelie guide thread? maybe you should go back and re-read it.

first gear, standup staggerd... small bounce and clutch it from about 10-15mph. You'll improve light years... give up sitdowns for now

I learned in 2nd because the throttle is not as twitchy, but 1st is probably a better idea. When learning in 2nd you will chase the **** out of it and be doin 110 mph when you set the front down, which can get pretty ugly, but to each his own.

That's prolly the best advice I've read about using the clutch. No wonder I've been hit and miss - I've been dumping the hell out of it.

I do agree though, standing staggered gets much more consistency and it actually feels better. It feels like when you were on a bicycle as a kid. Also, I know my bike is more than capable of being a wheelie machine - but right now just a little coaxing from a bounce does amazing wonders for the front coming up.

I also just replaced fork seals and the forks actually have some rebound now - I have a feeling that was making me work tons harder simply trying to get it up.

I spent an hour or so in a lot the other day with my buddy and by the time we left I was getting it up everytime and setting it down with the brake.

Now I just need to put my big girl panties on and get over that crazy *** feeling of weightlessness in the front end. Would you guys recommend letting air out of both tires for learning? Seems logical...
