Idle effect question.

Alright, I just recently started finally riding my 2nd gear stand ups at bp. My question is this, I have my idle turned up to like 2.8k.

Does the idle effect anything right now? I thought it only came into effect with 1st gear clutching from a stop, thats why I originally did it, I was told it would help. I was told if effects my throttle sensitivity now when doing 2nd gear though.. I was told if I go behind BP in 2nd with my idle up, itll toss me back on the tail very quickly.

So I thinking about turning it down, but I dont wanna turn it down, and then not be able to ride BP anymore after I just finally hit it this week.

Can someone just break down what the idle actually will and wont efffect?

I can be serious, because I have no idea what the hell it will effect, Im trying to explain the situation in the best way possible, and it doesnt really make sense.

Im just going off what I was told, I heard if I turn it down, its gonna fvck my whole flow up with 2nd now.

Just help me out and explain it to me cause Im an idiot, I dont need you to bust my ***** man.

Thanks.

Re: Idle effect question.

your idle will only throw you back if your going slower than the speed of your idle with no throttle input...turning it up when going that fast just makes the throttle less sensitive therefor less choppy.. NOT the best way to learn...its ok tho your rockin a banna seat lol

Re: Idle effect question.

the higher the idle, the less engine brake you have on hand.

thus, you can't go as far back without flipping.

same reason it's prolly not a good idea to clutch out of a hc or spreader scrape with a real high idle.

As for you, my throttle control is just fine, I was simply asking for the issue on hand to be cleared up for me.
