tank denting

tank denting

Is it possible to dent a 929 in with the tank off the bike and with no gas cap on it and then have it turn out ok?

umm, no put it on the bike, pound the **** out of it, with the cap on.. when you hit the cap, place a book on top of it, and then hit it with a mallet. so it doesn't crack

+1 yea i dented my tank with it off and then had to beat it out a little because it hit the airbox and wouldn't fit right

Mos def do it on the bike. And don't use a mallet, use a dead blow hammer. Use a phone book to start on the gas cap. Once thats down, use the hammer to move out the edge's. Here's mine on my 929.
