Re: Wheelie time

For me, I learned 2nd gear wheelies first, and still feel more comfortable in 2nd. 1st gear does come up easier, but it's tougher to control, and far too tourquie for me to feel 100% confident in my wheelie. I am new to slower wheelies, but my minty rear rotor and brakes don't even seem like they could stop me from looping if I rip a wheelie in first. Sometimes I pull the front up an 5mph, thinking I'm in 2nd, and do almost loop it while I'm on the brake because I'm really in first gear.

Reading my post I'm wondering how slow my slow stuff could possibly be if I'm in second gear. ???

Re: Wheelie time

You are gonna wreck once you get it up to the balance point, chopping the throttle like that. think about it, balance point, requires no acceleration to maintain, and you are on and off the throttle, 100+ hp against something that is at that point basically in a way weight less. think of it like a unicycle with that engine, you wouldnt be doing the throttle like you are. anyway, just clutch it up and maintain your throttle while it rises, if you clutch it high enough you can still be under the balance point and it will still rise and accerate real slow and then you can get the feel for it. once it gets high enough youll know you are at balance point and if you freak out and dont use the brake if you go to high, closing the throttle will most likely bring it down because there is no throwing of the weight caused by whacking the throttle open and closed.

Do people ever stunt with normal tire pressure? So far I've only played around with my tires at normal psi. If I were to come down to 15, would I see a world of difference?

put it down to 15... you wont wobble as much but it wont help ur wheelies... practice

Re: Wheelie time

Can I still rip around town with no worries? I mean, can I hit corners hard still? Not serious twisties, but some harder corners? I'm at 15 psi now but haven't pushed it in any corners.

Re: Wheelie time

OK, I got it now. I put my idle up to almost 3K, lowered the pressure to 12, threw it up and chilled right at balance point briefly while I was sitting. Pretty sick. I instantly learned how to slow my wheelies down at that point too, because I learned the brake and the balance point. I got sick arm pump now so I'll rip it again tomorrow. Yeah baby yeah...
