newbie to wheelies....help a brotha out

yo guys...already read the how to wheelie thing. i have been riding dirt bikes since i was like 5. started learning on a night hawk...now i have the 89 cbr 600. nice to learn on....i can power up wheelies desent...although i was reading and have now learned its not the safest most efficient. i have try clutching up the wheelie only a couple times...doesnt seem to want to go....it jsut bucks real hard and doesnt really pop up...started in 1st gear around 15-20 mph....slowly pulled in the clutch let the rpm rev up a lil and pop it out and it bucks like it wants to come up ...dont know if im just a p***y or wat....help me out here guyz...thanks

matt

Chances are you are chopping the throttle and leaning forward as soon as you clutch it, everyone does at first, youre natural instinct is to not want to go over backwards. Just gotta learn to overcome it and youll get it. If it will power up it will clutch up. Good luck.

Re: newbie to wheelies....help a brotha out

I was having problems clutching mine up and then I realized you have to have the rpms lower and clutch into the powerband. Like 4-5k in second then rev to 9 and let out. Make sure you lean back maybe even try staggered to get your weight more towards the rear.

Re: newbie to wheelies....help a brotha out

im still learnin the first gear wheelies too but what ive learned is that its alot easier if u take off and get up to about 35 then pull in the clutch and rev the **** outa it and let the clutch out...mines lifts right up and i ride em out for a pretty good distance...still havnt found a bp yet tho
