nailing 1st
nailing 1st
What's up guys. First off, I been riding for years, but have been want'n to get into stunting for a while now. Got a 929 w/ 10+ in the rear, front is stock as far as I know. Can hit bp in second and ride'em until I get worried and drop it down - this can be anywhere from 50ft to hundreds of yards or whatever. Haven't got consistent yet and need work - but hey gotta start somewhere. Anyway, my question is this: every time I try to bring up first it's so twitchy I have to bring in down right away - probably just the way it is and I gotta learn to get the throttle control down. But just wondering if there's any tricks to over come this - it's like I'm gunna go over or slam the front end down. Practice is key, but am I makin this more difficult than it needs to be? Rode my buddies 636 yesterday and the power difference was unbelievable, it was like going to a moped - ok, maybe not that bad, but seemed like it was a lot more controlable.

thats the trick.
Re: nailing 1st
For learning first what's the safest way on a geared 929 though, rolling or near dead stop? I normally try rolling, but does the bike get any less twitchy once it's at bp in 1st or pretty much the same or what?
Re: nailing 1st
I learned on a +13 954. Twitchiest thing I have ever ridden in my life now that I think about it.
You breath on the throttle and that thing was all over the place. I eventually got pretty good on it, and could roll idle and all, but looking back on it, that bike was a pig. It is actually still in my garage, but my f4i is night and DAY smoother. I don't even want to ride that 954.
Work on the throttle control. If you can ride that thing, u can ride anything.

Yeah, 2nd is easy and smooth- can hit bp fine, hold pretty much steady rpm and ride out. First is def. gunna take some work on this beast, I should probably stop cry'in and just go do it - I'm trying not to mess the bike up too bad though, my main bolt striped out for my cage so it's not on at the moment.

Yup, you said it. Practice,practice,practice... It's all about throttle control. I had a 929 plus 15 rear... Do your self a favor... sell it a buy a f4i, soooo much better

ARGO Cycles in Hokset NH is close. They got hella already low sided, high sided, front end collision, looped, and flipped bikes. You can get one out of there for a decent price that you wont worry about trashing because its already worked. Perfect stunt bikes.
